How about a surprise taped video presentation of the congrigation commenting on what Pastor Mike has done for them/what they appreciate. Plus maybe a gift certificate for the family to go to an indoor water park hotel this winter because the whole family is a part of who Mike is to us.
As far as a gift - we have been encouraged to give money towards Pastor Mike and Michelle going to Florida in January for a special conference. We've already reserved the conference but they want to take the kids along and have a vacation at the same time. Airfare alone will probably by $1600 so all money raised will go towards the event. i think the idea of raising money to help mike and michelle have a vacation would be really special and leave a lot longer memories than...say a gift certificate to 'the park' at moa.if you know what i mean...
